Independent Financial planning advice for:
Keyman Assurance

The term "Keyman Assurance" is used to described the arrangement whereby an employer insures the life of a key employee for the purpose of continuing profitability and possibly even the survival of the business in the event of the employee's death or disablement.

The death or disablement of any one of these key people could have very serious effects:

  • Reduction in turnover caused by lower sales/production difficulties
  • Possible loss of credibility with major creditors and in particular, the bank
  • The sudden loss of a key employee and therefore goodwill could jeopardise the capital value of the company.

With Keyman Insurance if that Key Person dies or becomes disabled the Company usually receive the proceeds as the beneficiary of the insurance policy. The money is then available to the business attempting to overcome the loss of the services of the key employee.

Aitchison & Colegrave can arrange a suitable policy and, as we have access to all the leading companies, can negotiate the most advantageous terms. Rates have declined in recent years and Aitchison & Colegrave are often able to secure substantial reductions in premiums by searching for the best terms available which will not have been passed on by your existing insurers.
